A ” You Make My Day Award “

-This tribute was passed on to me by Paz of Pazs’ New York Minute. How could I not love that blog AND that award? Paz captures little jewels of unexpected surprises in an about NYC through her photographs.

The best part is that I can accept this award without the pressure of choosing a gown, a hairdresser, writing a dopey acceptance speech that I’d be flub-a-dubbing from a tele-prompter or a sweaty handed, partially crumpled note taken out of a too small purse in front of a fickle love you when you’re up, hate you when you’re down audience.

Second, her blog contains great little hits of NY pie slices of life in photos that make me wish for some seconds that it was still home.

-And then, of course I look out my deck and that feeling passes.

The suggested guidelines for this award ( no rules, remember this is without pressure ) are:

Award guidelines:

โ€œGive the award to 10 people whose blogs bring you happiness and inspiration and make you feel happy about blogland. Let them know by posting a comment on their blog so they can pass it on. Beware you may get the award several times.โ€

So to the following people, I pass on this icon of appreciation.

Some are new to me but new favorites:

1. Nathalie of Nathalie With an H

2. David of David Lobenberg

3. Bill and Lisa of On Painting

4. Of course, Paz of Pazs’ New York Minute

Some are favorites and always give me something to have with coffee or lack of original thoughts:

5. Judy of Lobos’ Rants

6. Terry of Livin’ on St. Croix

7. Linda of Linda Blondheim Art Notes

8. Carol of Carol Marine

9. Sue of Ancient Artist

10. Nancy of Nancy Moskovitz Fine Art

And because 11 is and always has been my lucky number,

11. Sharon of The Art of Horseracing

  3. Linda Blondheim Says:

I’m so grateful for your generous award. So kind of you.

  4. Paz Says:

Aww! LOL! You are too much! Thanks soooo much! You’re right the best part is that we don’t have to dress up or anything to accept the award. ๐Ÿ˜‰
I love the photos of your cats and what a beautiful view from your deck. Heavenly! Thank you, Bonnie!

    Paz xxoo

  5. nathaliewithanh Says:

Awww! I’m so touched. Thank you. I’m going to sound like a total loser but I think this is the first award I ever received in my life!
That being said, was it really necessary to display your little eden when some of us do not belong to the very exclusive club of virgin islanders? I mean, some of us look outside our front window and are faced with a double line of cars (mostly Texan gas guzzlers) belonging to the visitors of the water park the city built across the street just after you purchased your house when all this time you thought you were very clever indeed because no buildings could ever be erected on city property. Naaah, I’m not bitter.
Okay so for the stories and the drinks, I think your patio will be perfect ๐Ÿ˜‰

  6. Nancy Moskovitz Says:

Awww, Bonnie. You made my day! nancy

  7. bonnieluria Says:

Nathalie, that sprawl syndrome is everywhere. At least you keep your wry humor.

Yeah, it’s a may be a view but I can’t take photos like you can.

  8. Sue Says:

Oh, come on, you know you make my day with that cup of Folgers and your inspiring blog! But I truly thank you for the award.
take care down there is paradiseville.

  9. judith wolfe Says:

What a way to start a Monday morning. An award? Wow! I thought simply waking up, kissing my sweet dog, Benny and walking in the park across the street would be enough of a gift but to receive a ‘ you make my day’ award? Hot diggity dog diggity – thanks so much. KNowing you Bonnie – is a great reward, unto itself.

  10. Carol King Says:

Judy sets you up with a blog and next thing you are off and running and winning awards! Overachiever! LOL!

  11. Noel Luria Says:

Chilli Pepper is aptly named. I look forward to our overdue meeting!

  12. wrjones Says:

Thanks you little foot beauty. Are you sure we don’t have to dress up and give a speech? I got this tux for the occasion.

Is that Carol King of the New York Carol Kings? She told me she couldn’t leave the house to play.

  13. bonnieluria Says:

But you’re so good at giving speeches. Written ones that I know about as do most of your blog readers.

She can only leave the house to be serious. And yes, it’s the same Carol King. Oh, You Got To Have Frieeeends.

Oh, you mean there’s another Carol King??!!

  14. Paz Says:

Bonnie: you mentioned a David L’s blog. Can you give me the link? Thanks!

Paz (who’s tickled that you gave me a You Make My Day’ award!)

  15. Sharon Crute Says:

I feel so special to be in the 11 spot! Is that like volume 11? And to be your lucky number – way cool! You are too kind…many gracious thanks, Bonnie.

  16. Paz Says:

Thanks again, Bonnie, for the link. I just came from there and saw David’s wonderful painting of the pigeon. Very cool!

  18. Paulette Says:

  19. bonnieluria Says:

Terry- you, are NEVER speechless. We all have our specialties and one day, soon, I may have to submit to the specialty of having one of your massages!

Paulette- So glad you could appreciate the listings. I really could have posted 21 and not 11 but when does one have time to sleep or get out of the clothes they’ve been in since yesterday when posting and linking began!!
I know you know what I mean.
Good to see you here again.

  20. Pamela Clarkson Says:

Bonnie-you made my day with your blog–love your free spirit and style. I so want to loosen up in my approach and artists like you are such an inspiration to me–plan to check back with you!

  21. wrjones Says:

Hey, time for a new post. Are you out there on that beach instead? Do you accept guests? Ok, then how about intruders?

  22. nathaliewithanh Says:

I CONCUR! It has been 10 days since your last post, slacker!

  23. bonnieluria Says:

WR- thanks for keeping me on my toes ( when they’re not in the sand ). I think made it to the beach about 3 months ago.
Man, this place is work work work.
When friends, ahem, intruders come, I get to avail myself of the geography.

And missy with the ” H”- yes, YOU, the bombshell in knee guards, that’s right, YOU. OK, are you happy now? Take a look.
It’s a bit dryer than my usual, but you took all the good stuff.

  24. Frank Gardner Says:

WOW on that view Bonnie. The cats are cute too.
Have a great time in the big apple. It was pretty darn hot up that way the past few days. I am glad to be back in paradise.

  25. bonnieluria Says:

Funny how it’s hotter so much further north, than it is in this sub-tropical environment. Ahh, those ocean breezes. ( as long as they stay as breezes and not ” winds ” ).
Welcome back home to you. Your new boat paintings are serene and beautiful, Frank.
Glad you stopped by here again.

  26. Noel Luria Says:

Und vhere ist Habernero zee oncle????
