Everyones’ favorite Cover Girls- Angel and Cloud.
Chosen to be the spokesmammals for the cover of the Sunshine Foundations‘ brochure ( 5000 of them to be exact ). One of my pet non profit organizations, they provide spay neuter services and education about same for an under served population here. I’ve been a volunteer for a year and shared in the recent celebration of hitting the milestone of 1,000 spay/neuters in a little more than a year.
That’s a lot of animals that won’t be born and abandoned, abused or worse.
Lots of support on that topic from the cousin’s club- found anywhere an errant crumb might fall….
The ever hopeful Cuba and Cloud
” Look over there, I heard the sound of a morsel dropping….”
” You weren’t using that haunch, mind if I do? “
I was pleased to have one of my paintings accepted for publication in the yearly calender put out by The Carribean Museum Center for the Arts.
You can now refer to me as ” Miss November “.

Miss November it is… But you and your lovely mammal friends are my calendar pals all year!
Happily it seems like the September funk and thumb woes are over… so CONGRATULATIONS on yet another wonderful pr opportunity …
Good luck on your upcoming event… A good and wonderful cause in which collectors and the island will have a win!

Marian- you’re so right- I don’t need no stinking calendar to know when the holidays are. They are every time I look at them.
I’m glad to put this summer behind. There’s a shift in the air, it’s cooler, the social events are ramping up and folks that have been gone are soon coming back.
The cadence is picking up. Always a good mood changer.
Thanks for your ever thoughtful comments.

Congratulations, Calendar Girl! And kudos to your 3 Cs. WARNING: wicked understatement ahead!… They’re lucky to have you and you’re lucky to have them. Ain’t it grand how animal spirit goes around?
October 19, 2010 at 12:16 am |
Sam- HA! so understated are you. Forget Paxil, Elavil, the Lunesta moth- just give me a puppy belly to rub and those beckoning eyes.
Cured!

What a super non-profit organization. I get so totally disgusted when I hear someone remark about thinking they will breed their mixed breed dog just because they want to share how wonderful it is with others . I usually open my mouth about that time and say their dog having puppies isn’t cloning no matter how nice their dog is. These are the same people who start asking you two weeks before the pups are born if you’d take one. It is no surprise to me that Angel and Cloud should be famous and featured!
Yeah for Bonnie Calendar art! You should be featured every month!

Leslie- it’s a very big problem here as it’s culturally ingrained. The promise and hope is to educate and outreach. We’ll never put a halt to it but we are absolutely making a difference.
That’s a sadly funny comment about cloning not being the result of over breeding your dog!

Call Me Miss November. It sounds like a title of your Autobiography. Cloud can be on the cover. Pawprints inside instead of words. I’d self publish a small one, Blurb, for example, and then use it as a fund raiser. Honestly, let technology assist your mammalamnity.
October 19, 2010 at 11:59 am |
Oh I dare say NOT Miss November.
My life will now and forever be known as Mammalamnity!!!!!
Who could better that?
Only you.

Oh, PS! I lOVED that musician the first time you posted it.

Isn’t is way cool to enjoy the fruits of your labor…with both fauna and the aesthetic? Congrats, you certainly are deserving.

Thanks Sharon- feeling the stage mother syndrome. And isn’t all recognition so nice.

I think that it’s time Cloud, Cuba, Chili, and Angel had an agent. I think this foursome have a great future in the animal advertising business…even Hollywood (Dogwood?). Keep shooting those wonderful pictures!

Are you taking on that role Mr. Kelly? They ARE damn cute, aren’t they! Even when they all wedge themselves between us in the bed…….
October 19, 2010 at 7:23 pm |
Congratulations Bonnie! Your work is wonderful and your animals are also doing good in the world.
Miss November….cute. Really, fun!
Wishing you a whole lot more recognition. Wishing you and your animals every success!

Melinda-cute animals and babies, right? They can upstage but they also get attention.
The animals are unwitting subjects but I try to exploit them for only the best of reasons..

OMG! What a talented family. Spokesmodels AND Miss November. I couldn’t be more proud!
I agree, the animals need an agent and Mr. Gloger is an excellent choice.
This whole family ROCKS!

Oh Carol, and these kids look good without any primping. Out of the bed, into the lens. They’re ready.
Like Mr. Gloger himself.

3rd photo: “Squirrel!” hee hee! … I think that was in an animation movie about balloons and broken promises recently.
I’ve only been voted off calendars so far … but hope Springs eternal … or those other seasons … if they have room.
Congrats!

Ross- was there a hidden squirrel under one of the dogs?
Or are you just being full of ship, different day….:-)

Ross- Thanks for sending this clip. I loved the movie and somehow forgot that specific scene. Squirrel! Ha!
We haven’t devised the voice box/ collar yet so I just assess their vocabulary through their beckoning eyes.
I don’t Fall for that hope Springs eternal. Let me Summer-ize…………..

Hi Bonnie, we’re back!
As if that Cloud weren’t famous enough already, now 5000 impressions! As others have said, soon you can charge for appearances. I saw your piece in the calendar. It looks good!
October 22, 2010 at 9:32 pm |
Hi Don, got some good Sarasota reports? Eager to hear.
Nice too, that you followed in the calendar with a great December piece.
Blogworthy, I think.
I’m just known as Clouds’ mom now….

Hello Miss November,
what a good-deed-do-er you are…and a good painter too. (Can we have someone set that to music?)
Excellent news, all of it.
One of the joys of dogs is that they never lose hope, whether it be that of finding an errant dropped crumb, or of finding humans who will love them. Yours found it all. Brava!
October 25, 2010 at 10:16 pm |
Yes they did Jala, and we don’t need musical accompaniment- they play me like a harp.
Nice to be Miss November with all my clothes on.

Those two dogs deserve all the fame they get. lol
Congratulations on getting your artwork published

kserverny- aha- another addition to the fan base rapidly growing. It may be sappy but to me, when animals of different species choose to hang together, it reinforces the notion that just because we’re on top of the food chain, it doesn’t make us flawless.
Thanks for stopping by again.
