You would cry too if it happened to you….
” There are two kinds of people in the world”, the computer repair man said, ” Those who have lost their hard drives and those who haven’t YET”.
Great. So I’m in good company with 300 million other people. I’m not consoled.
And if you’re all saying..” Why, of course she had everything backed up, she’s no fool”, say something else. Backed up some ( my art, important docs, some photos ) but lost most of my photos, all of my music, and essential photo applications are gone. I was four days away from bringing it in for suspicious behavior but had to wait until an event I was organizing was over. It just wouldn’t wait.
” What”, my friend Scott asked, ” The camel couldn’t walk the last mile “???
Another post is coming when new programs arrive.
This is what it looks like when your DOGS crash:

Lucky thing is, when the dogs crash, they don’t seem to lose any data!
So sorry about the computer… it’s a real annoyance even when everything is backed up. They make our lives different (better? easier?), but they can also consume a lot of time and cause a lot of anguish when we get dependent on them. I know all about that.
It was a class event, Bonnie!

WHAT!!!! That is awful Bonnie. I was just saying how I wanted to print some of my photos so everything is not on the computer. That just sucks. But I see Cuba and Cloud are as cute as ever.
Good luck with the new programs. Loved your tags for this post.

Oh nooooooooo! I’m so sorry. I’ve been there… May this serve to remind me to back up… yeah, right…
Happy happy cute dogs.

P.S. Hey, it looks like Cloud has dew claws! Cool. Mojito has them too. We were told they might cause all sorts of problems, but so far so good.

Sorry. I just went through a PC rebuild on a new PC. Much easier if it is planned and or backed up. You might want to try one of the off site services like Carbonite. There are plenty others if you want avoid and association with Rush Limbaugh. Your limitation might be your upload speed.
When I saw your post in my RSS reader I could just see a few parts of a flesh colored body and thought…oh good, Bonnie is doing nudes. I personally love artsy naked folks. On closer examination it is a dog nude. My second favorite subject.

Good lesson, since mine is having suspicious behaviors. Sympathy for your distress, but gives you more time to play with the dogs.

OHHHHH NOOOOOOOOO
How about data recovery????
Do they do that in St. Croix???
I know they do it here and I’ll bet you have connections in NY where they do it!!
Hope your woes are over and resolved quickly!!!

I know the feeling very well, unfortunately. I had to buy a new lap top. Today, I just dropped off my external hard drive at this data recovery place near 34th street. I’m praying they can at least recover my photos and it won’t cost me an arm and a leg. *sigh*
Good luck.

Bonnie, something I’ve long suspected about our (yours and mine) furry friends has been confirmed in my Dec. 7 post. Come check it out. 🙂

Let me add my voice of sympathy to you about your computer. Yikes. And more yikes. I’m so glad you’re back and hope that you’ll never have this happen to you again!!

I’m so glad to have your comments so I can find some of you to bookmark again.
I feel totally disoriented. Worse than the first months of computer newness. At least when I was a neophyte, I didn’t know what I was missing because I wasn’t missing anything yet.
All of this is counter productive and terribly time consuming.

Losing important stuff sucks.
I’d like to back up more than my computer.
